Sample production

Sampling is an essential step in garment design, bringing your vision to life in a tangible, physical prototype. This allows designers and brands to accurately assess the fit, functionality, and overall aesthetic of a garment before moving forward.

Isira captures your vision perfectly in a single sample, eliminating the need for costly and time-consuming revisions. We collaborate closely with you, ensuring every detail is faithfully executed and your expectations are not just met, but exceeded.

How it works?

Sampling offers a valuable opportunity to perfect patterns, experiment with different fabrics and construction techniques. We will create one size sample that aligns precisely with your initial vision.

Sample production common questions

How long does it take to produce a garment sample?

Sample production at Isira typically takes 2–4 weeks from the point when patterns are approved and fabric is received. The exact timeline depends on the complexity of the design and construction. We confirm the specific timeframe after reviewing your project details.

Do I need to provide my own fabric for sampling?

Yes. Isira operates as a CMT (Cut, Make, Trim) manufacturer — you supply the fabric and accessories, we provide the manufacturing expertise. We strongly recommend using the same fabric intended for full production. Different fabrics behave differently in terms of drape, stretch, and construction — a sample made in a substitute fabric will not accurately represent the final garment.

Can you recommend construction and finishing options?

Yes. Our team evaluates each project individually and recommends the most suitable construction methods based on your fabric, design, and desired finish — from seam types to stitching techniques and edge finishing. We advise on what will work best structurally and aesthetically for your specific garment.

What happens if I need changes after the sample is produced?

OWe maintain close communication throughout the sampling process to minimise surprises. If adjustments are needed after the sample is delivered — fit corrections, construction changes, or design refinements — we make the necessary revisions. Each correction round typically adds 1–2 weeks to the timeline.

How many samples do you produce per design?

We typically produce one sample per design. This is standard practice and sufficient for evaluating fit, construction, and finish. Additional samples can be produced on request — for example, if you need copies for press, buyers, or photoshoots.

Can you handle complex or highly detailed designs in sampling?

Yes. Isira specialises in complex constructions — structured silhouettes, intricate draping, bias-cut designs, and garments with detailed internal architecture. Sampling complex designs is where our experience makes the most practical difference, as these are the pieces where errors in pattern or construction are hardest to recover from.

Can you produce samples from a sketch without a finished tech pack?

Yes. We can work from sketches, mood images, technical drawings, or physical reference garments. A finished tech pack is not required to begin the sampling process. We discuss the design in detail before starting to ensure we understand your intent accurately.
